Hi.

I’m Mark,

I’m a student, aspiring writer and former professional basketball player. I’m 21 years old and I’m from the Netherlands. In nature and with the people I love I’m at my happiest.

I’m a coffee enthousiast, and I enjoy writing, photography, hiking, reading, basketball, and playing guitar. On my website you’ll find some of the pieces I write and photos I take.

I don’t know where I’m going. So I’m just taking it one step at a time, waiting patiently to see what God has in store for me. 

Basketball

My first love

I started playing basketball when I was 8 years old. From the first moment I stepped onto the court I fell in love. After a few years at my local club, Aquila, I moved on to a bigger club in a city near me. I spent a year at Celeritas Donar before moving on to the youth program at Donar Groningen.

At Donar I developed my game quickly. First in the U18, then onto the U22, and finally to the first team. I had to end my career prematurely after a little over a year, due to COVID complications.

Right now I don’t play, instead I’m giving occasional practices and clinics. Hoping to teach others more about the beautiful game of basketball.
